NBC’s TODAY show aired a segment on Jimmy’s Famous Seafood’s The Famous Fund, which has raised more than $464,000 for Baltimore restaurants. Pickles Pub, which was a recipient of a donation from The Famous Fund, was featured in the segment.

Pickles Pub Co-owner Tom Leonard was interviewed and spotlighted in the segment. It mentioned how Leonard and his business partners gave up their own salaries during the pandemic to help the staff, and it showed video of Leonard giving his employees checks for $1,000 after receiving The Famous Fund donation. Leonard praised The Famous Fund for raising awareness for restaurants.

The segment also had an interview with Jasmine Norton of The Urban Oyster, which had a brick-and-mortar location at McHenry Row before it closed last year.

South Baltimore businesses that have received donations from The Famous Fund include Serenity Wine Cafe, Shotti’s Point, Sliders Bar and Grill, Illusions Magic Bar, The Urban Oyster, Barracudas, and Pickles Pub.

The video of Illusions Co-owner Spencer Horsman receiving the call about his donation from The Famous Fund was also included in TODAY’s segment.
